I began my yoga journey in Senegal, taking time for myself and moving in the early mornings before the village would wake up. Witnessing the benefits this practice brought to my mind, body, and soul inspired me to go deeper, leading me to complete a 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training in France in 2020. Alongside this, I explored the power of breath and resilience through an initiation into cold exposure and breathwork practices. Since 2023, I have continued to expand my understanding of asanas by studying anatomy and neuroscience, focusing on how neurology connects to the physical practice of yoga and how this knowledge can support students in their own journeys. For me, yoga is a space to explore movement in unexpected ways, a playground where I can fall, experiment, and allow emotions to rise and pass. It is a practice that continually brings me back to my authentic self.

Description

Mathilde brings her unique expertise and flare for functional neurology to her classes. As well as a playful vinyasa class you will take the traditional asanas (postures) and move beyond typical alignment. Our brain and body thrives on variety so by moving beyond typical alignment, consciously exploring other, sometimes unusual, movements our brain feels safer. As safety increases, our body moves and feels better. This is an explorative practise with the intention of sharing science based information to help your body-mind thrive.
