Hi there, I’m Nicola - welcome to my page 😊
My love for yoga began during lockdown, when life slowed down for all of us. I found myself needing to channel my energy into something deeper than just another workout (and there were a lot of those happening in my mum’s living room!).
One day I swapped my usual HIIT videos for an online yoga class and something clicked. I felt a new kind of connection to my body and mind and from there my yoga journey really began.
Over time I explored different styles, but I always found myself coming back to Ashtanga yoga. I love the discipline and structure of the practice and the way it leaves me in a state of pure bliss and contentment afterwards.
I’ve been deepening my practice ever since and in early 2024 I travelled to India to begin my formal training.
Ashtanga has brought so many benefits into my life, from improved strength and flexibility to emotional balance and overall wellbeing and it’s a practice I truly believe everyone can benefit from.
I’m so excited to share it with you 🧡
Description
This is a dynamic and energising class where we move through sections of the Ashtanga Primary Series, including Sun Salutations, the standing sequence and parts of the seated sequence, followed by a selection of closing asanas.
Linking movement with breath, we use Ujjayi breathing throughout to create a steady rhythm and build internal heat (Agni), helping to purify the body, focus the mind and deepen the practice.
Expect a strong, structured sequence that can be both challenging and rewarding. Options will be offered, making the class accessible to all levels, whether you're new to Ashtanga or looking to deepen your existing practice.
Come prepared to move, breathe and leave feeling accomplished, grounded and energised.
I look forward to sharing this powerful and traditional practice with you!
