Sarah Freear
Sarah completed her 200 RYT training with Raw Yoga in Milford, which specialises in
trauma-sensitive yoga. She is also trained in yoga for children and teenagers and
chair yoga. She currently teaches Hatha Flow, Vinyasa, Yoga / Pilates Fusion, and
Subtle Flow in various locations in the North Shore. With over 20 years of practice,
she's had the privilege of learning from a diverse range of teachers and styles. In
her classes, she aims to guide students to move mindfully with their breath and find
their centre. Offering options for all levels, from beginner to more experienced, and
giving clear cues to ensure the poses are accessible and suitable for everyone. She
believes yoga is for EVERY body—no matter your age, size, or physical ability.
As well as teaching yoga, she also works at the National Child Rehabilitation Centre,
helping children and teenagers to recover after serious physical trauma. In this
role she uses her skills as a yoga teacher to help patients with a wide range of
conditions, from brain and spinal injury to debilitating conditions such as chronic
pain and functional neurological disorder (FND). She is trained in sensory
modulation and does a lot of work educating patients on how to regulate their nervous
system through movement and breath.
Description
Slow down, soften, and return to stillness. This deeply restorative class blends the long-held poses of Yin Yoga with guided breathwork, gentle meditation, and healing soundscapes. Using props for full support, you’ll settle into poses designed to calm the nervous system and release tension—physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Expect minimal movement, nurturing stillness, and space to simply be. Ideal for anyone seeking deep rest, inner balance, and a reset from the busyness of life.
