This is 90 mins of Yin heaven. Yin is introspective practice that offers a chance to turn inward and nurture the calm, quiet center that innate in all of us.
Yin poses are more passive, floor based or lying down, in seated forward folds, hip openers, supine twists, supported chest opener poses. There is no flow vinyasa, no standing poses. All poses are held between 3-5mins, targeting connective tissue like fascia, ligaments, joints and bones. Supported by the props, and giving you a space turn inwards. Incorporate deep breathing throughout and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of the body.
We all need Yin and Yang in our lives.
When life-force energy is appropriately balanced between Yin and Yang, it flows smoothly maintaining and promoting a good state of physical and emotional health.
