Winter solstice marks the 'rebirth of the Sun' as it marks the shortest day of the year when we have the least amount of daylight hours. In winter, everything lies dormant; this signifies a sacred time of rest and reflection before the awakening and the slow build toward brighter days.

The energy of winter is one of introspection and of looking inward.

The element of winter is water, which embodies the most yin of all elements. It is associated with the kidneys and urinary bladder, which rule water metabolism and maintain balance.

An hour class to bring free flow energy through meditative yin poses and restful Restorative. Yin working deep in to connective tissues, where the tensions resides. Breathing towards the tense areas and holding for longer to release tight areas tension can resides. in the body to allow flow of energy move freely again. Combining with delicious, restful Restorative poses, in stillness, supported by many wonderful props to create a sense of calmness, release and well-being.

Suitable for those who are struggling tight hips, some muscular, physical pain, ideal to balance your repetitive high impact exercise, if you are runner, also experience stiffness and need to de-stress.

To support your body better and create more comfort, prepare these props:
* A cushion
* Yoga bolster ( or pillow )
* 2 - 3 warm blankets
* eye pillow or any eye covering - scarf. Not compulsory if you don't like to cover your eyes
* wear warm clothing and your warm, cosy socks
