Description
Ecstatic Dance meetup
Join Just Breathe Den and Erin Goldstein & Kaycie Metzelaars of Barefoot Freedom Yoga for a fun meetup of music & embodied movement!
$15/person
Sat November 9th, 6:30-8:30 pm
Just Breathe Den, Charleston IL
What to Expect:
6:30-6:45(ish)
*Gather & open our group dance*
Gather to greet each other, and review rules & guidelines, expectations, & answer any group questions
6:45-8(ish)
*DANCE!*
We’ll have a clearly delineated dance floor, and we’ll dim the lights for good vibes. You do you – meditate, move energy, and free your spirit through dance and movement!
In general, people dance solo. We ask for no talking or touching on the dance floor if possible. Our intention is to create a space where everyone feels safe to connect with their mind, body, and spirit, and dance out whatever they feel without judgment or interference.
You may leave the dance floor to rest or hydrate at any point during the dance.
8-8:10(ish)
*Savasana & Meditation*
We’ll signal the group to sit or lay down and get comfy for about 10 minutes of rest, stillness & reflection at the end of the dance. We may smudge and/or play gong or chimes depending on the wishes of the group.
8:15-8:30(ish)
*Circle up, process, talk about our experience*
If you want to share about your experience, or you simply want to connect more with the group after dancing together, we’ll have a guided discussion together. Continue hydrating, and we hope to offer some tea and treats for anyone who would like to partake.
Experience Guidelines:
Dress comfortably for freedom and ease of movement
“Dance as if no one is watching”
No judgment
No talking on the dance floor
We encourage barefoot dancing for a grounded experience – socks are OK, and shoes welcome if medically necessary of course!
No alcohol, phones, cameras, drugs, or distracting scents
Respect yourself, everyone, and the space
This event is perfect for:
Anyone who loves to dance and celebrate life!
People looking for a safe and healthy way to release energy
Individuals seeking a deeper connection in mind, body, spirit, and community
Those interested in exploring the power of joyful movement
No experience necessary, just bring your open mind and comfortable clothing, and a water bottle.
