Yin yoga is a meditative style of practice that works on the "yin" or cooler tissues of the body i.e. connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and even bones. These tissues require a different kind of attention than the "yang" tissues (muscles) which have a lot of blood irrigation and love movement and exercise. The second part of the class is a practice of Yoga Nidra, best understood as a relaxed guided meditation for conscious rest, also known as the "Yogic sleep"
