Description
Yin Yoga combines the physical with the mental and is designed to calm a busy mind. It's a meditative practice where you just surrender to stillness and allow your body to soften and be supported by cushions and blankets on the floor, where you consciously let go of the mind chatter and the inner critic. This class is all levels and suitable for complete beginners.
Yin yoga is one of the best practises you can do to improve flexibility & restore range of motion in your joints and it is the style of yoga that helps us to really wind down and tune inwards as we settle into postures for a few minutes at a time.
Holding postures for a few minutes at a time can be surprisingly challenging. It's confronting and it challenges you slow down and to let go. Sometimes it feels boring, sometimes uncomfortable, other times blissful and then....little by little this hour of self care helps you develop flexibility and inner strength leaving you feeling balanced both physically and energetically.

Description
Tune into your body, relieve stress and prepare for rest in this yoga class. Honoring individuals’ energetic levels at the end of the day the pace is slower than our Vinyasa class yet more energised than our yin & restorative classes. The more gentle and calming nature of this class is great for beginners, but is also great for intermediate and advanced students who feel like slowing it down and sinking deeper into their practice.
This class allows you to move the body and burn off excess energy so that you can wind down to a deeper state of relaxation as you prepare for your evening.
A lovely class for getting out of your mind and into your body combing both yin and yang styles not only working on the yin tissues in the body (connective tissues - ligaments, tendons and fascia) to help improve flexibility but also creating the feeling of space and freedom in your body and mind.

Description
Myo-fascial release and yin yoga are both powerful practices and even more so when combined into one practice. Having studied and practiced both yin yoga and myo-fascial release techniques separately for many years, putting them together is a perfect combination to work both the muscular and fascial systems, ironing out any stuckness to create more space and freedom in the body and mind. Combining roll and release techniques with the deep long held postures of Yin yoga helps to free your movement limitations while developing muscular flexibility as well as increasing circulation and mobility in your joints. This myo-yin fusion will help to relieve muscular aches and pains allowing you to move more freely, expanding your range of motion and promoting the free flow of energy through the whole body.
This class is for all levels and ideal for anyone looking to unwind, release and let go of tension and tightness from the body. Practicing these techniques will also help to prevent injury and reduce pain while increasing range of movement and aiding recovery. We combine Yin yoga postures with myofascial release techniques using balls and then we soften and breathe space into our bodies as we unravel, release and let go of tension in our tissues. You will experience blissful sensations as we rebound between each posture stimulating and promoting freedom in the meridian channels of energy as well as the myofascial anatomy trains in the body.

Description
In this workshop we learn to feel into and observe imbalances in the body through meditation & movement, then we work along our myofascial meridians to iron out any issues we may be holding in our tissues through myofascial release techniques using a variety of props including balls.
To understand myofascial release, we must first understand fascia so we will talk about this complex matrix of fascia which weaves itself throughout our body, surrounding our muscles, organs, nerves, bones, blood vessels and even our cells and learn about the myofascial meridians of fascia connections through the body.
You'll learn and understand that when one spot in our bodies gets knotted from injury, trauma or bad movement patterns it can affect other areas in the body which is why when we have pain in our knee it may have nothing to do with a knee injury but maybe due to a niggle in our lower back or even our shoulder. So self myofascial release techniques (MFR) are designed to go in and smooth out those hard knots using objects such as balls, blocks and other props to iron out any stuck areas returning the fascia to its normal fluid and adaptable self.
We will move through some of the Anatomy Trains and learn about the interconnections of the body by scanning and observing your own body using meditation, breathwork and feeling for your own physical ranges of motion. Then we explore each line using self-massage techniques based around the latest in fascia research to release stuck areas that will help you improve your posture and increase range of motion creating more freedom of movement and space in your body.
I have studied with the worlds best experts in this field and can't wait to share these techniques with you. This is a 2 1/2 hour workshop and you will take home a handout with information and techniques used in class that you can continue at home. I'll have some balls for sale on the day too.
