Mindful Yoga blends the wisdom of Alignment Yoga with qualities of mindful awareness to guide students in the discovery of renewed connection and gentle release of tension patterns. Students develop strength, flexibility and balance in body and mind through this timeless practice. For all levels, including those brand new to yoga. Poses are taught in progressions so you can explore from a place that feels right for you.

Please bring the following items if you have them:
yoga mat
folded blanket or thick towel
strap, belt or resistance band
yoga block

Description

Hybrid Yoga incorporates a combination of chair & floor practice, along with mindful awareness, for a well-rounded, balanced practice of renewed discovery & re-patterning of compensatory habits. Students are never weight bearing on wrists or knees in this class, and we explore accessing poses more efficiently & safely through the support of a chair. Students will need to be able to move from floor to standing (& vice versa) with relative ease.

Please bring the following items if you have them:
yoga mat
folded blanket or thick towel
strap, belt or resistance band
yoga block

Students in grades 6-12 are invited to share this special class with a parent or other special adult in their life.
Together we will explore yoga, meditation, and partner poses in a joyful exploratory way! A great way to spend quality time together!
Welcoming and inclusive to all abilities, genders, and identities. No experience necessary.
Register one time in the parent's name. A liability waiver for your child will be emailed to you and must be returned prior to class.

Description

Gentle yoga is for every body type and is designed to build strength, flexibility and balance in older adults through a gentle, accessible manner. Each class will move through a series of postures and relaxation techniques with a focus on optimal alignment and the integration of breath with movement. Participants will learn ways to release tension patterns in the body and the mind, while developing freedom of movement and a renewed connection with their sense of self. Please note that this is not a chair yoga class, although we may use chairs for support from time to time. Participants should have the ability to move from the floor to a standing position and vice versa. Please bring your own yoga mat, folded blanket or thick towel, and a belt or resistance band. There are no credits or refunds for missed classes in this series.
