The first 30 minutes of class will be centering and creating some warmth via Yoga Sun Salutaions and breathwork. The last 30 minutes of class with offer a few prop supported yoga postures and a deep, long rest.

Gentle yoga, deep relaxation, silent meditation

Physically, this practice is low-key, with some slow and fluid posture practices, light stretching and strengthening, stillness, and deep rest. The deeper work of the class is the layered approach to caring for the mental, emotional, energetic, and spiritual sheaths of our being, through IFS inspired Yoga practice. Internal family Systems therapy is very close to yoga philosophy in that they both recognize a central self that is compassionate and clear, and parts of mind that form through pain that can be unburdened. Students will be encouraged to disentangle from the harmful messages of the over-culture in order to reclaim self trust and love. Many options and invitations to explore will be given for students to discover what feels caring for the body and what doesn't.
