Description
An all-over body generic feel good session focussing on body alignment, complementary to yoga.
If our bodies are properly aligned, it enables our joints to load correctly (and therefore avoid wear and tear) and helps us move in a way which is biomechanically as effective as possible. If our body is aligned properly, it keeps us out of pain and prevents injury. A properly aligned body should be able to move through a full range of motion without any difficulty. However our lifestyle often means bits of our body go to sleep, they seize up or they stop working. Another body part kicks in, trying to compensate for the sleeping part. We often feel pain in say, a hip or a shoulder, a knee, a back – but the area of pain is rarely the source of the problem. The problem is usually coming from somewhere else. Perhaps feet that have lost their ability to fire up the muscles and lift the arches or a pelvis that is trying to compensate for tight hips. Usually both. (Obviously I’m not talking about trauma/injury as the result of an accident or operation here).
IMPORTANT CAVEAT: This class is NOT designed to identify or treat any specific injury or painful condition and it is not tailored to any individual's needs. It is a generic all-over. As always, it is your responsibility to listen to your body, rest when you need to, stop if anything causes you pain.
