Description
Anxiety isn’t just a feeling—it’s a physiological response shaped by the nervous system, brain chemistry, and learned patterns of thought and behavior. This workshop offers a comprehensive introduction to understanding anxiety from a scientific and physiological perspective, alongside practical techniques to help regulate anxious responses.
The focus of the session will be on how movement, breath, and sensory regulation can influence anxiety levels, allowing you to interrupt anxious thought patterns and guide your body into a calmer state. You’ll also gain an introduction to the nervous system’s role in anxiety, how hyperventilation impacts the body, and how to build a personal toolkit of techniques to help you combat unwanted anxiety.
What to Expect:
✨ Understanding Anxiety & The Nervous System: A short, accessible introduction to how anxiety manifests in the body and mind, including the role of the Vagus Nerve and how to recognise early signs of escalation.
✨ Movement & Release: A gentle grounding asana sequence designed to release tension stored in the body and settle the mind.
✨ Rewiring the Stress Response: A combined approach to calming the nervous system and breaking free from anxious thought loops. This section blends movement, breathwork, and sensory-based techniques with cognitive strategies to interrupt anxious patterns, foster a sense of control, and build resilience.
✨ Guided Deep Relaxation: A closing practice of Yoga Nidra to shift the body into a state of deep rest and integration.
Perfect for:
Anyone experiencing stress or anxiety, looking for practical tools to self-regulate, or wanting to understand the mind-body connection in managing anxious responses. No prior experience needed.
