Yin Yoga is Yin yoga is a quiet contemplative practice that works deeply into our body with passive, longer-held poses. The practice targets the deepest tissues of the body, our connective tissues - ligaments, joints, bones, and the deep fascia networks of the body. Energetically it improves the energy flow, enhancing the flow of chi/prana in the body. Yin yoga also offers wonderful emotional and mental health benefits.
There is no aesthetic ideal to reach which makes the Yin Yoga approach very liberating, instead there is an emphasis on a functional approach.
On the emotional/mental level the Yin approach cultivates an inner stillness and a keen sense of introspection.
