Description
Introduction to Meditative and Intuitive Collage Journaling
Come tap into your creativity in a mindful and meditative way. In this class we will begin with just a bit of a centering to get a feel for what needs to get out into our Journal. Followed by suggested instruction for ways to begin to create your own collage journal as well as journal prompts to inspire you. It is in the creation of each page that is a cathartic process of artistic authenticity. A great way to help to process, integrate, clarify, accept, focus and refocus your shadows, thoughts, feelings, and emotions. In doing so you journey deeper into the soulful self.
No meditation or prior artistic talent needed. This class will tap into that creativity that we all have inside of us. Each journal will be unique and personal. This is an introductory class with a little extra instruction.
What to bring?
Your own journal (any journal will do, but the thicker the pages the sturdier your Journal will be)
Water
Travel/to-go mug for tea that will be provided
What will be provided?
Glue
Scissors
Loads of paper of all colors and patterns
Inspirational words
Inspirational images
Stencils to create your own words
Markers
Colored pencils
This is a similar idea to a vision board, but in this sense we are not necessarily focusing only on what we want for ourselves. Intrude journaling, this is a way to help to process, integrate and inspire us. The words that we use may speak to us in a different way than our vision boards would. We will begin in a circle and create in a circle if that speaks with you. Choose to work quietly on your own or converse with the other students in class to make some new or deeper connections. Uplifting music will be played in the background.
This may be the first of a monthly (shorter) gathering if this speaks to people.
Having been an art teacher for 8 years I love any opportunity to tap into my own creativity and introduce or rekindle the creativity within my students! Pairing art and meditation together can be a healing processing tool.
