We will begin standing with a brief centering and flow right into gentle movement to shift our energy. We will end with stretching and a brief savasana for integration. This is a great class move your energy and root back into your body. Lots of modifications are given and you are encouraged to meet your body wherever it is in that moment and to rest when you need to. Come as you are and take what you need. Join Jennifer Brouillard of Roots to Fly Wellness for this moderately paced Vinyasa flow yoga class focused on breath work, strengthening, and stretching. Knowledge of the yoga poses is needed for this class as we will move a bit quicker than my gentle yoga classes, but lots of modifications are still given to meet my yogis at their various levels of practice. Come connect with your breath, find your center, meet yourself at your edge, and tune into your body and your intuition. Come as you are, take what you need, rest when you need to (it's ok to say no to a pose and rest in child), and release what no longer serves you. I will always remind you to do what is best for you and to listen to your body. Remember, what you do to bring peace to your inner being helps to bring peace to the world.

Join Jenn Brouillard of Roots to Fly Wellness for a Yin yoga class with Restorative pose modifications. Yin yoga is a stretching focused class done with a cool body. Poses are held for 2 minutes and are all low to the ground. Most poses that are offered offered will have an optional modification to make each pose more restorative if that is what your body is calling for at that moment. In Yin we compress the ligaments and joints with long holds and breath work to help the fascia to open. Yin works into the fascia and aids in joint mobility, flexibility and balance. The compression (the holding of the stretch at it's edge) starves the joint of fluid while stretching the fascia around the joint capsule. When compression is released the joint capsule is freed, but the fascia remains slightly stretched and more open. Fluid, nutrients, and oxygen rushes back to the joint capsule and this flood of hydration is felt in the body as the rebound. Along with this more tangible shift Yin also helps to calm the nervous system (taking your nervous system back into Rest and Restore) and clear the energy channels (meridians) of the body through the fascia.

Flow of class: We will begin with a centering meditation with a focus on getting into the body and breath. We will move through the poses with soft, instrumental frequency music playing in the background throughout class. We will close with a 2 minute body scan with sound bowls and a 5 minute savasana each week.

The focus of this class is to stretch your body, replenish your energy, nurture your mind, release the things that are no longer serving you and recalibrate your focus. Take the Yin pose or the more restorative modification depending on your energetic and physical needs at the time. Enjoy the peace that comes from listening to your body and meeting it where it is at, not where you wish it were. Remember what you do to bring peace to yourself, brings more peace to the world. Welcome to the chakras series! Each month we will focus on a different chakra. This will be an hour long class filled with information, breath work, meditative techniques, and movement that revolve around balancing that specific chakra. Each session will include a tea, aromatherapy blend, and Crystal specific to the individual chakra we are focusing on. You will receive information about the given chakra, various tools for balancing that chakra and will end with a brief meditation on the specific chakra. Sometimes there will be light movement involved which you can participate in or just observe. You are highly encouraged to bring a journal and writing utensil to take notes for your personal information. You're welcome to engage in conversation and ask questions or just observe and absorb the information. The class size will be kept to 8 so please register and Mark this on your calendar if this speaks to you to reserve your spot in class.

This class it's meant to offer you information for you to observe, absorb, process and make your own. You will be offered tools and techniques to take home with you to practice on your own. Reminding you that you are your own guru, you have the power to heal yourself. Folks like myself are just here a space holders and information shares. We are here to empower you and encourage you to walk your path to claim your sovereignty and to put you back in the driver seat of your life.

This month we will begin at our base, our foundation. The Root Chakra is focused on your safety, stability, and belonging, within your body and within the collective. When your roots are strong and deep there is no reason to fear the wind. So come tend to your roots and build your foundation with more faith, confidence, clarity and balance.

Root chakra:
- If you are called to and have it, feel free to wear the color red in some form.
- As you enter you will grab a cup of root chakra tea if you are called to. This tea will be a blend of herbs focused around safety, stability, rooting and grounding. You will also receive an extra tea bag to take home with you to journey with later
- You will receive a crystal that also will be focused around balancing your root chakra.
- We'll begin with information about this Energy center and how it interacts with your physical, mental, emotional, energetic, and spiritual bodies (the koshas).
- We'll then go into breath work, mudras, and yoga pose techniques for balancing this chakra.
- We will end with a brief savasana meditation focused on the root chakra.

What to bring:
- A journal and writing utensil
- Water
- Yoga Mat
- We will be sitting on the floor for a good portion of class so if you have anything specific you'd like to use to set yourself up to be comfortable bring that. There will be mats, blankets and bolsters to borrow at the studio!
- Wear comfortable clothes and feel free to wear the color red if you're called to.
