We will begin standing with a brief centering and flow right into gentle movement to shift our energy. We will end with stretching and a brief savasana for integration. This is a great class move your energy and root back into your body. Lots of modifications are given and you are encouraged to meet your body wherever it is in that moment and to rest when you need to. Come as you are and take what you need. Connect with your breath, find your center, meet yourself at your edge and release your stress. Remember, what you do to bring peace to your body, mind and soul brings peace to the world. Join Jennifer Brouillard of Roots to Fly Wellness for this moderately paced Vinyasa flow yoga class focused on breath work, strengthening, and stretching. Knowledge of the yoga poses is needed for this class as we will move a bit quicker than my gentle yoga classes, but lots of modifications are still given to meet my yogis at their various levels of practice. Come connect with your breath, find your center, meet yourself at your edge, and tune into your body and your intuition. Come as you are, take what you need, rest when you need to (it's ok to say no to a pose and rest in child), and release what no longer serves you. I will always remind you to do what is best for you and to listen to your body. Remember, what you do to bring peace to your inner being helps to bring peace to the world.

Join Jenn Brouillard of Roots to Fly Wellness for a Yin yoga class with Restorative pose modifications. Yin yoga is a stretching focused class done with a cool body. Poses are held for 2 minutes and are all low to the ground. Most poses that are offered offered will have an optional modification to make each pose more restorative if that is what your body is calling for at that moment. In Yin we compress the ligaments and joints with long holds and breath work to help the fascia to open. Yin works into the fascia and aids in joint mobility, flexibility and balance. The compression (the holding of the stretch at it's edge) starves the joint of fluid while stretching the fascia around the joint capsule. When compression is released the joint capsule is freed, but the fascia remains slightly stretched and more open. Fluid, nutrients, and oxygen rushes back to the joint capsule and this flood of hydration is felt in the body as the rebound. Along with this more tangible shift Yin also helps to calm the nervous system (taking your nervous system back into Rest and Restore) and clear the energy channels (meridians) of the body through the fascia.

Flow of class: We will begin with a centering meditation with a focus on getting into the body and breath. We will move through the poses with soft, instrumental frequency music playing in the background throughout class. We will close with a 2 minute body scan with sound bowls and a 5 minute savasana each week.

The focus of this class is to stretch your body, replenish your energy, nurture your mind, release the things that are no longer serving you and recalibrate your focus. Take the Yin pose or the more restorative modification depending on your energetic and physical needs at the time. Enjoy the peace that comes from listening to your body and meeting it where it is at, not where you wish it were. Remember what you do to bring peace to yourself, brings more peace to the world. You matter!

This class is the perfect addition to your wellness plan. This supportive and nurturing kind of yoga helps us to get out of our frenetic day-to-day life within our sympathetic nervous system of "fight or flight" and brings us back into our in parasympathetic nervous system in charge of our "rest and restore" functions.

Restorative Yoga is a yoga style that uses props to fully support you within each gentle, low to the ground pose. We will be breathing and releasing into 8 poses for 5 mins each in this class. Through the aid of the props supporting you and breath-work, Restorative Yoga can offer you a deeper release within your body as well as your mind because you are not holding anything. You may be surprised just how much stretching and nurturing happens when you are fully supported and able to relax deeper into each of these poses. Each person will receive 4-5 mins of Reiki during the session. Class will end with an integrative Savasana.

What to bring (all props are available to borrow at the studio):
