Sam is a yoga teacher, immersive workshop leader, reiki practitioner, mentor and coach. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance and completed her initial yoga teacher training at a beautiful residential training school in Rishikesh. She is particularly interested in exploring how yogic principles, practices and lifestyle can be used in the West as a way of creating greater peace, fulfilment, belonging and joy in a world that sometimes feels set up to put these things perpetually just beyond our reach.

Description

This is a unique class that brings together two ancient and beautifully complementary modalities; nonduality and yoga. Nonduality is a translation of the Sanskrit word "Avaita" which means "not two." It is the recognition of the essential oneness of the universe. Yoga is a Sanskrit word that means "unity." It recognises that there is an inherent unity in all of life.

What makes this class unique is that nonduality is traditionally practiced as a seated meditation, where awareness is is drawn increasingly inwards. In nonduality yoga, we experience a dance of the ever-changing nature of our experiences and the never-changing nature of our essential nature. The class will weave these themes of ever and never changing, using movement and stillness and supporting a more embodied approach to self-realisation.

The class will integrate gentle movements from yoga and energy practices from qigong, with self-enquiry practices from the Nondual tradition. It is suitable for anyone from beginners to more experienced practitioners and will have a strong emphasis on listening to the wisdom of your own body.

Please note:
This class will be recorded as part of my training as a Simran Meditation Facilitator. The recording will be shared with Navid Zargham as part of my assessment, but will not be shared publicly. By signing up to the class, you are giving your consent to be part of this recorded session.
This is a donation-based class. This means you are very welcome to attend the class for free, but if you would like to make a donation, you will be able to do this via a link emailed to you following the class.
