THIS IS AN ONLINE CLASS
“Flow Yoga, or “Vinyasa Flow” combines a series of flowing postures with rhythmic breathing for an intense body-mind workout. In Vinyasa classes postures are linked together in a continuous and challenging flow and the common thread is a breath-synchronized movement that develops strength and flexibility while keeping students on the move. This style of yoga is a derivation of the practice of Ashtanga Yoga, a challenging and disciplined series of poses designed to create heat and energy flow. The many benefits of this class include building upper body strength, detoxification, mental and physical balance, flexibility, and stamina. Every class will be a different sequencing of postures that is specially designed by the instructor.

Description
This Class is a combination of 30 minutes Yin OR Restorative Yoga practice with 30 minutes combined practice of Breathwork (Pranayama) and meditation. This is an All Levels class and Beginner-friendly.
Yin is the cool, lunar, passive aspect of the Yoga asana (posture) practice. Asanas are held for 3-10 minutes to allow the denser layers of the body to unwind. Yin opens the connective tissues versus the muscles and allows practitioners to experience greater range of motion and flexibility. This class is a perfect compliment to a Power Vinyasa yoga practice and great for anyone who sits or stands during their day.
Restorative yoga is a relaxing style intended to be healing and nurturing for the body and it can relieve stress. This class is designed to restore the nervous system and help release deeply held tensions from the body and mind. Props are used to support the entire body in postures, while gently aiding the body in relaxation.
The second half of this class focuses on Breathing and Meditating. It brings our full focus onto breath and the power it holds. The practice of breath control is the fourth limb of the eight limbs of Ashtanga yoga. Prana is the universal energy that flows through us and everything around us. This energy creates, sustains, and destroys because it permeates everything and is considered the "breath of life". Pranayama practices manipulate this force within us creating profound shifts in the mind and energy of the body. Most practitioners are familiar with Ujjayi breath, but in this class, we will explore various pranayama techniques to unlock the potential you hold and elevate your physical yoga practice.
Meditations will vary from week to week and be at the discretion of the teacher and the level of the group.

Description
This class is NOT a guided class and there will be no verbal group instruction from the teacher. *New Students please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the scheduled class time*
Mysore is the traditional method for learning Ashtanga yoga and offers a highly personalized approach. Each student works individually with the teacher within a group setting to build a self practice following the Ashtanga Series. Postures are learned one by one and tailored to meet ones specific physical needs and ability level according to the guidance of the teacher. Our Mysore classes are perfect for all levels - brand new to seasoned practitioner, young and old, flexible and inflexible, injured or in perfect health.
In a Mysore class, students do their own Ashtanga yoga practice while being given personalized instructions and adjustments from the teacher. Mysore style is considered to be the ideal and safest way to begin an Ashtanga practice since the practice is adapted to the individual rather than generalized as in a group class.
You can drop into a mysore session at any time and stay for as long as you wish. For beginners, this could be half an hour, and for the more advanced up to an hour and 45 minutes. It is a wonderful way for beginners and advanced practitioners alike to develop a self-practice that you can then take anywhere.
Practicing in this way gives you the space to focus. The cue to move on to the next posture comes from your own breath, instead of a teacher's instructions. Students can therefore spend a little longer working at their own pace on something they find challenging. In effect, you become your own teacher. If there is something you are unable to do, the teacher will give you an easier version and assist you with modifications.
Sessions are characterized by the sound of ujjayi breathing – a powerful, rhythmic, "heating" breath. Everyone is working at their own pace; little verbal instruction is given, and when it is given, it is directed individually for the benefit of the one person it is intended for.
