This disciplined practice covers the full Ashtanga Primary Series, a dynamic, fast-paced series of sequential postures transmitted by yoga master Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. Deva Premal puts it this way: “In kirtan, we sing our praises to the divine in the many forms in which it manifests.” Kirtan is a Sanskrit word meaning “praise” or “eulogy.” It's also known as sankirtana and is used to describe a form of call-and-response chanting involving mantras or hymns.

Mantras means “to guide and protect the mind.” Mantra helps to guide your awareness to a place that is quiet and still by repetition and returning to the chant.
