Music and sound have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My love for electronic music and growing up near Seattle exposed me to all sorts of music, and over the years, my fascination with sound has only deepened as I started to explore DJing in college. As a former high school and college basketball athlete, I’ve always been interested in the science of the body and health, which led me to pursue a career in nursing. I earned a bachelor's degree in public health from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO, and later completed my BSN at Duke University.
Before finding yoga, I was a competitive CrossFit athlete. But when I met my wife, Allie, I was strongly encouraged (forced) to attend her yoga classes. What started as a reluctant experience quickly turned into a realization that yoga and meditation were the missing links I had been searching for. As my strength, mobility, and overall well-being improved, I transitioned to practicing yoga exclusively for both physical and mental health. Through this journey, I became an avid meditator—an experience that was nothing short of life-changing.
My deep dive into meditation naturally led me to the transformative power of sound. After experiencing my first sound meditation in Asheville with Billy Zanski of Skinny Beats Sound Shop, I was mesmerized by the power of gongs and how ambient music could shift energy and consciousness. Later in meditation I received confirmation that creating my own ambient soundscapes was something worth exploring and sharing with others. Â
Now, as a sound practitioner, I blend my love for electronic music with ancient healing instruments, creating unique and transcendental sound experiences. My sessions feature gongs (my absolute favorite), synthesizers, native flutes, guitar, the didgeridoo, and other powerful instruments to elevate the collective vibration of those who experience them.
I've been fortunate to study under incredible mentors, including Billy Zanski, who introduced me to the world of sound healing and the didgeridoo, and Mike Tamburo, one of the most renowned gong players in the country. Additionally, I’ve worked one-on-one with Colin Allured, an incredible musician here in Winston-Salem, to dive into music theory, the guitar, and explore ancient vocalization techniques.
Through sound, I’ve found my true passion—helping others shift their energy, expand their consciousness, and experience deep relaxation and healing. I invite you to join me in this journey, immerse yourself in the frequencies, and feel the profound effects of sound.
Description
Experience the extraordinary energy of the Full Moon and Total Lunar Eclipse on March 13 in this unique guided meditation and sound bath. The eclipse and full moon represent release, transformation, and renewal, making it the perfect time to dive inward and access deeper states of consciousness.
This special event features a Pineal Gland Activation Meditation—a practice rooted in ancient traditions often referred to as "third eye meditation." The pineal gland, a small gland located deep within the brain, is thought to be the seat of intuition, spiritual awareness, and higher states of perception. Through the use of pranayama (breath control), visualization, and mental concentration, we will work to awaken this gland, unlocking a profound sense of meditation and bliss.
Live sound will accompany the entire experience, creating a rich vibrational soundscape to amplify the effects of the guided meditation. A variety of instruments—including gongs, singing bowls, chimes, synthesizers, guitars, and wind instruments—will weave a tapestry of sound that calms the mind, relaxes the nervous system, and opens the heart.
After the guided breathwork, you’ll be invited to rest deeply in savasana, giving you ample time to explore the deeper aspects of your being while immersed in healing vibrations.
Members enjoy complimentary access to this Full Moon Sound Bath.
Non-members are welcome to join this transformative experience for $33 or purchase a class pack and save!
