Guided Microcosmic Orbit Meditation | Balanced Energy for Stress Reduction & Mental Clarity

This beginner-friendly guided meditation introduces the Microcosmic Orbit, a foundational Daoist meditation practice popularized in the West by Mantak Chia. This shorter, accessible version was recorded live with my class and offers a supportive entry point for those new to energy work, meditation, or internal awareness practices.

In this practice, life-force energy (Qi / Prana) is gently circulated through the body’s two primary energy channels—up the spine (Yang) and down the front of the body (Yin)—forming a continuous loop that supports balance, healing, and rejuvenation. The orbit begins and ends in the lower abdomen (Dan Tian), restoring a natural energy cycle that is strong in childhood but often diminishes with age, stress, and mental overactivity.

Because we are working within a 30-minute container, this practice emphasizes dharana (concentration)—learning to place and sustain attention through breath, visualization, and felt sense. Consistent practice of dharana naturally allows dhyana (meditation) to begin arising on its own over time. I recommend staying seated in meditation for another 15-30 minutes after the video ends.

✨ This practice is especially supportive if you are:
• New to the Microcosmic Orbit or Daoist energy practices
• Looking to strengthen concentration and inner awareness
• Interested in balancing Yin & Yang energy
• Seeking a gentle, seated meditation practice
• Wanting to build a foundation for deeper meditation

This meditation is practiced seated and encourages a soft, patient approach. There is no need to “force” energy—simply follow the guidance, stay curious, and allow your nervous system and awareness to settle.

Inspired by Mantak Chia’s teachings and the methods shared in Healing Light of the Tao.

🌀 For best results: return to this practice regularly. As concentration deepens, the body often remembers how to circulate energy naturally.
