Breathwork & Meditation for Peace | Pranayama + Stillness

Allie Labate

February 18 2026 • Duration: 31 Minutes

This 30-minute meditation is taken from my weekly Meditation Club class, where we explore various techniques to develop our skill of concentration (dharana) to access the meditative state (dhyana).

We begin with pranayama (breathwork) to settle the nervous system and expand our capacity for presence. Today’s practice includes:

• Double Inhale Lung Expansion with Retention – to awaken the breath and increase lung capacity

• Kapalabhati (Skull Shining Breath) – a cleansing, energizing breath to clear stagnation and sharpen focus

Please note: the microphone didn’t fully pick up the sound of my breath during these exercises. If you’re unfamiliar with Kapalabhati or would like to hear the rhythm clearly, I recommend watching a short tutorial before practicing along:

After breathwork, we move into silent seated meditation, gently resting our awareness on the felt sense of peace. No visualization. No effort. Just presence.

This practice is supportive if you’re feeling:
• mentally busy or overstimulated
• emotionally unsettled
• disconnected from yourself
• in need of grounding and calm

You’re welcome to return to this meditation as often as you like.
