Grateful for how the principles and practice of yoga have influenced her personal experiences as well as her leadership journey, Fanta believes that yoga principles and practice can help with reflection, strength and resilience-building, and incorporates this ideology into her work with social entrepreneurs and health leaders as well as her yoga students. With over 500 hours of registered training with the Yoga Alliance and holding a Master of Public Health in Community Health Education and a PhD in Public Health, Dr. Fanta Waterman is a clinical assistant professor in Public Health Leadership and consultant to healthcare organizations aimed at increasing community access and representation in healthcare evidence, literature, and leadership. Her teaching style incorporates hatha, vinyasa, pranayama and meditation and invites students to a physical practice that is interesting, empowering and trauma-informed. Fanta is committed to expanding access to yoga to underexposed communities and provides vocal instructions and alignment cues during class to support focus and intuition in students’ practice, and build resilience.

Description

Come flow with us as we connect our movement to our breath to build a little warmth and quiet the mind. This is a 60-minute class for all levels with variations offered throughout the practice. Be ready to increase your physical strength and flexibility along with your mental strength and flexibility.
