Description

Restorative yoga is a fully supported yoga practice that invites the body into deep rest and muscle relaxation. Like yin, there are lots of props and longer held poses. Unlike yin, the joints and tendons are not gently stressed or stretched, but completely supported and cushioned so the body and nervous system can release tension and experience relaxation. For people in chronic stress, this practice may help invite their bodies and nervous systems into an opportunity to unwind and feel safe. Practitioners may feel rejuvenated and/or deeply relaxed after sessions.
