Yoga to me is so much more than the movement. I initially found yoga in search of improving fitness and flexibility but what I found was a space and time that quietened my busy mind and during that time I spent on my mat I was able to completely switch my head off. As someone who has a never ending to do list and feels like they should always be doing something, I found this calming mind exactly what I needed, far more than the physical movement itself.
After practicing regularly for nearly 10 years, and many years of wanting to do my yoga teacher training, I finally plucked up the courage to just go for it. I completed my 200hr Vinyasa and Yin Yoga Teacher Training in Sri Lanka in November 2024, and began teaching in January 2025 as soon as I returned from my travels.
Although I have often been drawn to a stronger practice, after doing my training in vinyasa and yin, I have grown to appreciate both the yin and the yang. The combination of the two practices has really helped me find more balance, and realise that it's okay to slow down. My classes will flow through movement with the breath including asana variations making it accessible to all.
I'm really excited to be able to introduce people to yoga at my beginners classes. I will be holding a welcoming, encouraging and nurturing space to start your yoga journey, going through all the fundamental asanas giving you the confidence to continue your journey into a regular mixed level class. I will be taking elements from both my vinyasa and yin training into my Yoga Restore class. Guiding you through slow gentle movement with the breath followed by restorative yin stretches and mindfulness, making it the perfect way to end your day towards the end of the week.
