About Yoga With Mel

I’m Melanie, a yoga teacher based in Anniesland, Glasgow. I have been practicing yoga for over 10 years. When I first started I was focusing on the physical benefits but soon realised the impact it was having on my overall wellbeing. I was sleeping better, felt less anxious and found more focus and balance in my life. Yoga has been a constant in my life since then, providing me with stability, especially during some of the more challenging times. I want to pass on the benefits of yoga to others.

I decided to do my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Meditation and Healing Glasgow, where I recently graduated, under the guidance of Paula McAdams and Pól Mollan. I learned to teach from a functional approach, encouraging students to move in ways that feel right for their own bodies.

I offer variations and adaptations throughout practice, supporting you to explore movement in a way that feels right for you. Through breath awareness and breath-to-movement, you’ll experience a fun practice that’s helps you reconnect with your body and start to understand what it needs to support your overall wellbeing.

My training lineage has strongly shaped my teaching. Paula McAdams, a specialist in therapeutic yoga, brings extensive experience in advanced yoga studies, anatomy, Yin, Restorative practices, and somatic approaches. Pól Mollan, trained in Mysore under Bharath Shetty of Yoga India and holds a 500-hour Advanced Classical Ashtanga qualification. Both Paula and Pól have studied with Srivatsa Ramaswami, the longest-standing student of Sri Tirumalai Krishnamacharya.
