With almost 20 years of personal practice and over 500 hours of yoga teacher trainings, our yoga teacher brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and a calm, welcoming approach to every class.
Having studied a variety of yoga styles, she has completed specialist Yin Yoga Teacher Training with Yoga Medicine®, bringing a well-rounded and considered approach to every class.
Her yoga journey has taken her around the world. She has taught extensively in Thailand, leading classes in Bangkok and at the Shiva Yoga Ashram in Phetchaburi, where she mentored trainee teachers on a 200-hour yoga teacher training programme.
Having recently returned to Leigh-on-Sea after several years living in Thailand, she is delighted to share her experience with the local community. Her classes offer a welcoming space to build strength, improve mobility, and cultivate greater balance through mindful movement and breath.
Description
A 60-minute Yin Yoga practice designed to support joint health, fascial hydration, and nervous system regulation through long-held, passive stretches. Rooted in the Yoga Medicine® approach, this class focuses on creating sustainable tension within the body's connective tissues to encourage adaptability, resilience, and improved mobility.
There is no flowing sequence or strength-based postures—this practice is entirely stretch-focused. Each shape is supported with props and held for 3-5 minutes, allowing the muscles to soften while gently loading the fascia, ligaments, and joint capsules. Throughout the class, you'll be guided to explore your personal edge with mindful awareness, steady breathing, and an emphasis on interoception rather than achieving a particular pose.
Suitable for all levels, this practice offers an opportunity to slow down, improve mobility, enhance recovery, and cultivate a calm, balanced nervous system. Expect to leave feeling more spacious, grounded, and restored.
