Description
Satsang, which means ‘association with the highest Truth’, has been taking place in one form or another for as long as people have been gathering together to inquire into their true nature. Whoever is searching for the Truth is engaged in Satsang—the root of the word may be Sanskrit, but the implication is universal.
In the West, Yoga is commonly mainly focused on the physical aspect; what we are able to do with our bodies and what kind of poses we can get into, which results in validating unhealthy personal internalised belief systems or cultivating an unsustainable practice for our body temples. Often the depth of yogic teachings hardly reflects and translates into our day-to-day living. Flexibility has little to do with practising yoga and nobody has ever been enlightened doing chaturanga. Yoga is accessible to all who feel called, to embrace as a study or embed it into existence as a discipline.
With "Intro to Living Yoga" you are invited to open yourself to a deeper breadth of the aspects of Yoga and develop an understanding of how to create more harmony within yourself, quieting the fluctuations of the mind.
In this ‘Satsung Lite’ We will have discussions from the most familiar physical side towards the most subtle and the most important part which is about our being and the relationship we have with ourselves and our bodies, how we are able to handle unexpected situations and react accordingly, and our whole mental well-being and mindfulness to everything we do and mainly how we do. In this Yoga Social, “Intro to Living Yoga,” we aim to bring illuminate the tenets of Yoga based on the 8 Limbs as a stepping stone to cultivate a deeper relationship with integrating yoga off the mat.
You will have a chance to be part of the open talks or just simply be a listener. Everyone is welcome. This is will be an opportunity for us to grow together as a community, as one.

YOGA / COMMUNITY / MOVEMENT / DISCOVERY
Yoga in the Stars is a project by The Metahealth Movement, a not-for-profit working towards elevated health.
We are thrilled to announce that £9,943 has been donated to Yoga in the Stars by The National Lottery Community Fund for a special new project The Yoga-Social!
The project is to create a space for people to come together around health and well-being. A free space to practice yoga, breathwork, movement, dance, tai chi and talk about health, food and lifestyle. Use the studio equipment and space in an open, inclusive and fun way. Expect spontaneous workshops and sessions, as well as a dedicated self-practice space, and we hope to invite other local yoga teachers to host sessions and workshops throughout the year to help grow and enrich the community.
Reach out to us with ideas.
Yoga really is for everyone, it’s a personal thing, and is a lifestyle choice that goes way beyond the mat and into every aspect of life, and we hope that this grant helps you to explore what this can mean for you as we discover together.
#NationalLottery and the National Lottery players, thank you!
