While my introduction to yoga years ago started with Iyengar practice which I tremendously enjoyed, subsequently, I went on exploring various forms and modern styles such as Yin, Restorative, Jivamukti, Katonah, Vinyasa, Rocket, Four Beat and Forest Yoga.
My yoga Teacher Training took place in Wales with Meni Farkash who is a founder of Agniyaana Yoga and it consisted of 250 hours Yoga and Ayurveda. This training covered traditional philosophy and practice dating back to the origin of Hatha Yoga and beyond, Pranayama as well as 50 hours of Ayurveda training.
Apart from and alongside my yoga practice, I enjoy practicing Callisthenics which, I find, supplements yoga in a fitting way.
Description
This session is aimed at introducing and developing gradual body mobility and strength as well as creating spaciousness and release through gentle twists and lengthening.
We would be mindfully warming up and mobilising shoulders, engaging the upper and lower back through strengthening poses and twists and would be establishing steady grounding through exploring balance in playful ways.
A continuous theme would be applying our breath from practice to daily life and how we can translate this transition in simple steps. We will both begin and end the session with breath and meditative practice.
The overall concept is feeling and finding fluidity and suppleness in our movement and state of being.
