Description
🌑Every month Tantrikas celebrate "Shivratri" the darkest night before the new moon since Shiva represents darkness and the void which is considered auspicious. On the darkest night before the new moon before Spring Mahashivratri is celebrated as one of the most auspicious nights of the year. The great dark night of Shiva.
🌑Mahashivratri ~ in non dual tantric terms, this can be interpreted as the Great Consciousness - the great void, that which pervades everything and everyone also known as Lord Shiva. He is limitless, transcendent, unchanging, formless and transformative.
🌑Shiva takes many forms, forest dweller, loving husband and father, friend of all, wild dancer, fierce one and is commonly depicted as the first and original yogi - Adi Yogi
🌑Mahashivratri is the night Shiva and Shakti came into divine union many aeons ago. This is actually symbolism for the cosmic dance of Consciousness (Shiva) with energy (Shakti).
This union is often represented by the Lingam - Yoni symbolising creation.
🌑We fast, meditate, dance and chant on this dark night in reverence to Pure Consciousness ~ Lord Shiva, humbled by his omnipotence!
~ Om namah Shivaya ~
Please join us for a night of reverence to Shiva, consciousness and the practices from the sacred tradition of yoga. Invocations, mantra, pranayama, Asana, story telling and sound.
