Description

Giving As Activism

Moving beyond the material and exploring how our greatest gifts are ourselves - each with our own unique circumstances, experiences, stories and wisdom.

We will use playful exercises to draw out some of these gifts and see how it feels to give and to receive them freely.

If we believe that all living things are connected, then by giving to one we are giving to all; we will consider if therefore sharing ourselves and listening to others might be a way in which we can all be activist in making our world a better place.

What to bring:
- Please bring with you an item of sentimental value that you might be happy talking about within our group. Maybe something you’ve picked up on your travels, an item of clothing or jewellery that reminds you of a particular place or person, something nature gave you or anything else with meaning.

A word from Martin:

Hi, I’m Martin, massage therapist and wellbeing coach. I have been (and still am!) on a long journey of healing and self-love. This has taken in a range of different modalities as well as now being onto my third different career – but I really feel like I have found my ‘home’ with this work. I love the alchemy and synergy that comes from working in group environments, and I am so excited to connect with some of you at this or future events.

YOGA / COMMUNITY / MOVEMENT / DISCOVERY

Yoga in the Stars is a project by The Metahealth Movement, a not-for-profit working towards elevated health.

In 2022 £9,943 was donated to Yoga in the Stars by The National Lottery Community Fund for a special new project The Yoga-Social!

The project has been to create a space for people to come together around health and well-being. A free space to practice yoga, breathwork, movement, dance, tai chi and talk about health, food and lifestyle. Use the studio equipment and space in an open, inclusive and fun way. Expect spontaneous workshops and sessions, as well as a dedicated self-practice space, and we hope to invite other local yoga teachers to host sessions and workshops throughout the year to help grow and enrich the community.

Reach out to us with ideas.

Yoga really is for everyone, it’s a personal thing, and is a lifestyle choice that goes way beyond the mat and into every aspect of life, and we hope that this grant helps you to explore what this can mean for you as we discover together.

#NationalLottery and the National Lottery players, thank you!
