Basia Zieniewicz
I am a fully qualified and insured Yoga Instructor. After almost 20 years of practice, I began an 18-month teaching diploma training under Sevanti at Unity Yoga in 2019 and completed more than 400 hours of various training since.
Beginning my yoga journey in 1999, I've found my practice to be an incredibly powerful tool for support and positive transformation in my life. I've practiced and studied with teachers from various styles and traditions but I consider my practice and sharing to be post-lineage. I endeavour to share yoga practices in an inclusive, accessible and non-hierarchical way which respects your own inner wisdom and natural rhythmic cycles.
I embrace the role of a guide in the realms of both tenderness and resilience, softness and strength, in what I like to call “subtle activism” and am inspired by embodiment practices. I like to slow things down and I encourage this at every opportunity. My approach emphasizes nurturing an inquisitive awareness of the body, mind, and spirit. I aim to be playful in my devotion and facilitation, interweaving my various yoga trainings, esoteric practices, and transpersonal psychology. I like to focus on honesty and introspection in practice, guiding yogis to connect deeply with themselves to discard the superficial and delve into the breath to clear the mind & steer it towards clarity. I am passionate to guide towards cultivating a more sensitive connection to the subtle cues within and outside the body in order to align you with your most unique compass code. It's my firm belief that our duty is to discover what inspires us so we can be bold and share our sparkle in this world.
In addition to my initial teacher training certificate, I see myself as an ongoing student of yoga, inspired by many brilliant teachers, and have trained under Dr Kumar in Traditional Vedic yoga, Uma Dinsmore Tuli in Yoga Nidra, WeEvolve and Katonah yoga under Selena Gareffino, as well as yoga for children with Zen Kids and Trauma-Sensitive Foundation with Centre for Trauma and Embodiment.
With a degree in arts education and an accredited and certified Therapeutic Depth Psychology Coach, my post-graduate therapeutic trainings include Integrative Arts, Psychosynthesis and Grofian Psychedelic and Breathwork psychological models, being an ongoing student of spiritual psychology since 2020. I specialise in supporting and integrating spiritual emergence and emergencies.
A humbled co-creator to our avant-garde yoga club in East London, Yoga In the Stars, where we embody the philosophy of being a "merging of the emerging," and space for continuous learning, community and growth.
I offer 121 coaching packages, yoga sessions, yoga nidra and am in the process of creating an online mentorship program - in due course

Earthquakes of the Soul: Tremors & Somatic Liberation
There are moments when words fall short—and the body starts to speak.
This session explores the spontaneous, often surprising language of neurogenic tremors and bioenergetic release, particularly as they appear in Holotropic states and related somatic practices.
Long before we put trauma into words, the body holds it. And sometimes, the most profound healing comes not from analysis, but from a subtle, involuntary shudder.
Guided by an experienced facilitator, this session includes a live, online practice—offering participants a safe, accessible introduction to neurogenic trembling, without force, manipulation, or intense activation.
We'll start with a short theoretical overview followed by gentle preparatory stretching and an experiential session designed to softly invite psoas-based release and subtle energetic unlocking.
These tremors are not something we “do”—they’re something we allow. As Grof observed, in non-ordinary states of consciousness, the psyche has its own self-regulating wisdom. This work honours that wisdom through the body.
We’ll explore how tremors arise in Holotropic Breathwork, why they’re often misunderstood or suppressed, and how they can support deeper integration, especially when working with COEX systems, birth matrices, or energetic discharge.
No previous experience needed—just curiosity, a bit of floor space, and the willingness to shake loose what no longer serves.
ABOUT THE SERIES:
The Holotropic Series: Psyche Snacks for Holotropic Hungry
What actually happens when we access non-ordinary states of consciousness (NOSC)? And why does it so often feel like the body knows the way, long before the mind catches up?
The Holotropic Series is a collection of bite-sized webinars exploring the fascinating terrain of Holotropic and Grof Breathwork (and psychedelic therapy?) and the revolutionary cartography of the psyche developed by Dr. Stanislav Grof—psychiatrist, LSD researcher, and quite possibly the Carl Jung of expanded states.
Whether you're completely new to this work or you've already hyperventilated your way into the cosmos and back, this series offers intelligent, experiential, and surprisingly down-to-earth insights into what makes Grof’s approach to NOSC so unique. We explore the principles, patterns, and poetic messiness of the deep psyche: from COEX systems to neurogenic tremors, energetic yawns, and the mysterious intelligence that moves us in non-ordinary states.
This isn’t therapy as you know it—it’s a reunion with your inner healer on its own terms. You’ll also meet some of the trusted facilitators, peers and fellow travellers who are bringing this work to life across the UK and Europe—each with their own unique lens on the mapless territory of expanded states.
YOUR FACILITATORS
Edward Sellman, BA (Ed), PGDip, PhD works as an academic in the field of education, with a focus on mental wellbeing and human flourishing, a topic he has written many journal articles about. He is a trained Mindfulness Teacher, Integrative Transpersonal Counsellor and Grofian Psychedelic Psychotherapist. He is an expert in humanistic and transpersonal psychology, an approach to understanding human experience as psychospiritual, which respects the innate intelligence of the psyche and how the subconscious interplays with health and daily life. Edward is experienced in supporting client’s holistic development. He is also a trained facilitator in TRE® (Tension and Trauma Release Exercises) and SoulCollage®, which integrates creativity with learning about the Self.
Francesc Guinart is a facilitator of self-discovery, inner healing, and deep personal connection. Based in Spain, his journey began through yoga and breathwork, later deepened by training in Caycedian Sophrology, Holotropic Breathwork®, non-dual philosophy, and sacred plant therapies. Since 2008, he has supported therapeutic processes using both micro- and macrodoses of sacred plants, alongside the MindDetox Method to address deep-rooted stress and anxiety.
Francesc organises and leads workshops and silent retreats, offering spaces for deep rest, healing, and reconnection with the authentic self. His work draws on integral attention to the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of being. Grounded in the power of silence and reflection, his retreats create a sacred pause—supporting participants to release what no longer serves and move toward greater wholeness.
Basia Zieniewicz, Co-founder of Yoga in The Stars, B.Ed., PGDip Integrative Art Therapy, PGCert Psychedelics, Altered States & Transpersonal Psychology, EMCC PGC Psychosynthesis Leadership Coaching Psychology, Reiki Master, IYN RYT, certified Grof® Psychedelic-Assisted Therapist, and in her final year of 4 as a trainee of Grof® Breathwork through the Grof Legacy Training®
Inspired by an interweaving of esoteric mysticism, sacred arts, and evidence-based modalities, Basia's special interest is in the liminal spaces, supporting individuals who seek inner and outer balance to resource their heart's desire. She offers constructive guidance in both the preparation and integration of NOSC, with tender care, helping clients navigate their experiences into lasting transformation.
