Hatha Yoga is the basis of all physical yoga forms that now exist.
During asanas (postures) and pranayamas (breathing techniques) you observe carefully what happens in the body and you become aware of your own possibilities and limitations. Your body awareness grows. By consciously following your breath you experience space and you learn how to release unnecessary (muscle) tensions. Sometimes we hold an asana longer and allow silence in the poses so that mind and body have the opportunity to surrender. Softness and relaxation can then arise. Pleasant side effects of the asanas are that you become more flexible and powerful in body and mind. Each lesson ends with a reclining relaxation (savasana).
