About Yoga with Charli
I teach Vinyasa Flow, Ashtanga, Hot and Hatha Yoga to groups and individual clients across North West London. My initial training was a 200hr intensive course in India which took my personal practice to greater depths. I have since furthered my studies with world renowned teachers; Tiffany Cruikshank, Mimi Kuo Deemer, Kristen Campbell, Sarah Powers, , Bridget Woods Kramer and Norman Blair.
I teach slow flowing alignment focused classes where movement is linked through the breath to allow the body a chance to let go of tension and relax, whilst positions are held to build strength and freedom in the body. I focus on breath awareness, alignment, building strength and core work. My approach to yoga and warm caring personality shine through in my teaching style. Sequences and postures are modified to be available different levels or those with injuries.
My teaching style is influenced by my initial ashtanga practice and my current vinyasa flow practice. In the earlier years of my journey I practiced ashtanga yoga daily - waking early each morning to practice mysore before my management accounting work. I still love ashtanga yoga but due to 2 broken collarbones post 2019, my vinyasa practice has taken over. This gives me the freedom to roll out my mat and respond to how my body feels each day - which is usually not 50 pushups in my practice! I love the creative freedom that vinyasa flow allows me on my yoga mat, and how I can base my practice around certain themes or body parts that need more care and attention on different days. The best part of my week is exploring and creating new fun sequences to teach in my classes.
My yin practice is the perfect balance to a strengthening vinyasa practice, a weights workout which has become a big part of my life in the last 2 years, and a physically demanding teaching week! My injuries have also deepened my knowledge & practice of myofascial release which I bring into my classes and teach regular workshops on.
