Description
The pace of the class is deliberately slow and gentle, allowing you to move with ease and to focus on your breath and body sensations. We stay close to the ground, with none or few standing poses. All poses can be changed and adapted if you, for example, need to stay off your hands or your knees.
By slowing down we get a chance to really feel what is going on and focus on alignment which allows for a safer and more comfortable practice. It helps improve our body awareness which has benefits extending far into our normal life off the yoga mat as well.
These classes are perfect for anyone who wants to balance strength and flexibility. Whether you feel limited by your body or are active somewhere else and want more holistic movement aimed at recovery and wellbeing.
For this class bring your own mat and yoga block (if you don't have your own, email me and I will bring it for you)
Suitable for all levels & age groups – especially beginners & anyone with anxiety or physical obstacles
Great for improving mobility and joint health

Description
The restorative yoga classes focuses on relaxation, rest, and rejuvenation. Unlike other forms of yoga, which may involve dynamic movement and strenuous poses, restorative yoga emphasises slowing down and letting go of tension in the body and mind. We hold the positions for several minutes to maximise restoration.
During a restorative yoga class, we typically use props such as bolsters, blankets, blocks, and straps to support our bodies in comfortable and passive positions. The poses are designed to promote deep relaxation, release muscle tension, and quiet the mind.
I, Ylva, may guide you through breathing exercises and meditation throughout the class to help you deepen your relaxation. The pace of the class is slow and steady, and the emphasis is on being present in the moment and tuning into the body's sensations.
Restorative yoga classes are suitable for all levels of experience, including beginners, as the poses are gentle and accessible. They can be especially helpful for those experiencing stress, anxiety, or physical discomfort, as they offer a space for relaxation and restoration.
For this class bring your mat, a blanket and a pillow or bolster (if you don't have your own, email me and I will bring it for you).

Sunrise Beach Yoga & Sea Swim Cancelled

Tide Mills
Ylva Jones
Description
We will meet at Tide Mills car park, BN25 2RT (in between Newhaven and Seaford, you will receive exact directions upon booking) roughly 10 minutes before the start time and then wander over to the spot together.
We have a spot of flat ground for the yoga just back from the pebbly beach, where we will be more comfortable and balanced.
Focus will lie on stretching out the large muscles and getting the circulation going in the body to prepare us for the following swim. The pace of the class will wary slightly depending on the weather. If it is cold and cloudy we will focus on warming up and energising a bit more, but with plenty of options to accommodate all levels and abilities. Whilst if its hot and sunny we may slow it down and soak up the rays to not overheat.
We move through a series of stretches and poses, feeling our bodies awaken and our breath deepen. Our movements will be slow and intentional, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the present moment and nature.
After our yoga practice, there is the option to take a dip in the sea, the cool, salty water washing away any remaining tension or stress. Feeling invigorated by the energy of the sea, it is impossible to not be present, noticing the body coming alive with sensations when being submerged in cold water.
These yoga classes at Tide Mills beach is a wonderful way to connect with nature, rejuvenate your body and mind, and start your day with a sense of calm and gratitude.
Price: £7
Payment is required at time of booking to secure your place.
More info about where we will meet, what to bring etc will be sent out once you book.

Description
Vinyasa Flow Yoga is a dynamic and physically more challenging style of yoga that emphasises on fluid movement and breath control. In a typical Vinyasa Flow class, we will move through a sequence of movements in a continuous, flowing way, synchronised to the breath.
The word "vinyasa" comes from the Sanskrit term nyasa, meaning "to place," and the prefix vi, meaning "in a special way." Vinyasa Flows then emphasises on the connection between breath and movement, with each inhale or exhale initiating a particular movement or sequence of movements, to place the body in a specific way with each breath.
Each class will be different and the focus can lie on different body parts, such as hips or shoulders, or a particular movement, like circles or backbends. The focus can also be to keep a mindset of fluidity or stability. But in each class we will move through a variety of poses, including sun salutations, standing and balancing poses aiming to get the whole body involved and energised.
Moving faster and having to work a little bit harder with the body can both be really fun and a great way to calm the mind down. Vinyasa yoga can offer a great respite or act as a balancing tonic if we are living a life where there is a lot of focus on thinking and less on physical movement.
For this class bring your own mat and yoga block (if you don't have your own, email me and I will bring it for you)
Suitable for all levels, apart from complete beginners

Description
This class is designed to help you connect with your body, breath, and mind in a gentle and nurturing way. The class will begin with a brief centering meditation to help you let go of any distractions and fully arrive in the present moment. You will then move through a series of gentle yoga postures, linking your movement with your breath in a flowing sequence.
A special focus will be placed on undoing tension that easily occurs from modern life. Meaning we will work on mobilising the spine, open the chest and improve blood flow to the hips and legs.
Moving in a way that feels good in the body, stretching out commonly tight muscles and preparing us for the meditation part by making sure the body feels as comfortable as possible.
The yoga postures will be accessible and adaptable for all levels. You will be encouraged to move at your own pace and to listen to your body's needs throughout the practice.
After the flow, you will be guided through a seated or lying-down meditation, bring a blanket to sit on or to wrap around you to stay warm and comfortable.
The meditation will focus on cultivating awareness, presence, and relaxation in the body and mind. We will use various techniques to help you deepen your meditation practice, such as breath awareness, visualisation, or body scan.
The class will end with a brief period of reflection, allowing you to notice any shifts or insights that arose during the practice. You will leave feeling more centered, grounded, and connected to yourself and the present moment.
For this class bring your own mat and yoga block (if you don't have your own, email me and I will bring it for you) and blanket

✨ Soft, fluid movement to release habitual tension and restore ease
✨ Breathwork to settle the nervous system and invite presence
✨ Humming, tapping, and self-soothing techniques to shift from stress to relaxation
✨ Simple, practical tools to regulate emotions and support well-being
This course is for anyone looking to unwind stress, improve sleep, or feel more at home in their body. No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to slow down, listen inward, and move in a way that feels good.

Description
Join us for a fabulous morning. Starting our morning with a yoga class on Tide Mills beach, located in between Seaford & Newhaven, BN25 2RT.
We have a spot of flat ground for the yoga just back from the pebbly beach, where we will be more comfortable and balanced.
Focus in the class will lie on stretching out the large muscles and getting the circulation going in the body to prepare us for the following swim. The pace of the class will wary slightly depending on the weather. If it is cold and cloudy we will focus on warming up and energising a bit more, but with plenty of options to accommodate all levels and abilities. Whilst if its hot and sunny we may slow it down and soak up the rays to not overheat.
We'll move through a series of stretches and poses, waking up the body and deepen the breath. Our movements will be slow and intentional, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the present moment and the world around us.
After the yoga, there is the option to take a dip in the sea. The sea in the UK is always invigorating and breathtaking. Most of us will have heard all about the health benefits of cold water immersion. But there are other endless healing properties of the sea, such as how it resets our eyes to gaze out at the horizon (as a great antidote from the constant near-gazing we do at our screens) or the reduction of pressure whilst still mobilising all of our joints and many more.
Whether you choose to go in the sea or not, we all gather for some tea and breakfast snacks afterwards, enjoying each others company, the view and the lingering feelings of wellbeing from a morning spent looking after oneself.
These yoga classes at Tide Mills beach is a wonderful way to connect with nature, rejuvenate your body and mind, and start your day with a sense of calm and gratitude.
