Description

Mudgar Yoga is a unique practice inspired by India's ancient traditions of physical culture, where yoga was practised alongside strength, mobility, endurance, and discipline.

Named after the traditional mudgar (Indian clubs), this class combines Hatha Yoga, functional bodyweight exercises, ancestral Indian strength training, breathwork, and mobility into one dynamic practice. Alongside yoga postures, we explore traditional training methods using equipment such as the gada (mace), mudgar, Indian clubs, and shenā push-up boards.

This class is an excellent complement to Ashtanga Yoga, helping you build the strength and stability needed for stronger Chaturangas, more controlled Nāvāsana, Kākāsana, Utpluthiḥ, arm balances, and other demanding postures. At the same time, special attention is given to shoulder mobility, joint health, and natural movement to create a body that is not only stronger but also more mobile and resilient.

Inspired by Hanuman, the embodiment of strength, courage, humility, and devotion, Mudgar Yoga is much more than a workout. It is a complete practice that develops both body and mind while reconnecting with a rarely explored aspect of India's yogic heritage.
