Gentle movements will help open the rib cage, and side body preparing you for pranayama, a yogic breathing practice. Today's pranayama is called surya bedhana, and it is designed to warm up the body, bring a bit more energy in, and connect with the healing powers of the sun. It is a great breathing practice for this damp, cool time of year - not the best if it is hot outside, or you are feeling hot on the inside!
