Finding Stillness in the Struggle (10/22/26)
Allison MillerOctober 22 2026 • Duration: 50 Minutes
How do we meet difficulty, both on and off our mats? Drawing on Yoga Sutra 2.47, “Posture is mastered through the relaxation of effort and absorption in the infinite,” we’ll explore how asana can help us develop the capacity to remain present in the face of discomfort and difficulty, rather than immediately pulling away. Through lingering holds, Kechari Mudra, and mindful awareness, we’ll consider how to soften unnecessary effort while staying present with what challenges us.
As Judith Lasater writes, “Willingness to not run from difficult is the ultimate death blow to difficulty.”
