Meet the Owner
Kathleen "Kat" Kelly is the founder and director of Bay Area Yoga Mindful Movement & Healing Center. With more than 35 years of experience, she is an International Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT), E-RYT, meditation teacher, and lifelong student dedicated to helping others move better, feel better, and live with greater ease.
Kat's compassionate teaching style blends mindful movement, breath, meditation, and therapeutic yoga, creating a welcoming and supportive experience for students of all levels.
Description
The Beginner's Guide to Yoga Movement leads yoga newbies through a 6-week journey into the foundations of yoga in a safe & welcoming environment. Students will learn basic anatomy of the body and breath. This class is uniquely designed to work with students of all ages, body types and varied degrees of flexibility. After completion of the course, you will have the necessary knowledge and skills to confidently enjoy general yoga classes.
Kat Kelly (Eryt500, yacep) will guide you step by step through each class, focusing on:
• breathing techniques
• healthy movement and alignment for the joints in the foundational postures of yoga asana
• use of props and blankets
• concentration and focus of the mind
