This is a community that comes together for connection, growth, empathy, and authentic communication to cultivate peace in ourselves, our families and our world.

Based on the principles and practices of Non-Violent Communication, this class can help you resolve conflicts, better express your needs and desires
and completely transform the quality of your relationships.

This class will help you become fluent in the NVC Language of Life and embody its principles through practice.

A typical class follows this time flow:

Check in - 5 - 10 mins
Discussion of theme - 10 mins
Mindful movement (Yoga / Qigong) - 10 mins
Meditation and breathing - 5 mins
Writing or speaking practices - 30 mins
Reflections and sharing - 10 mins

Please prepare:
- Comfortable clothes for movement
- A quiet place with space to move
- Journal and pen

Qi (Chee) Gong is an ancient healing art that originates in China and is practiced all over the world. Combining powerful stances with graceful movements, you will develop better balance, feel more energy and release stress and tension.

Balance for Life is designed for those who want to age gracefully and enjoy a high quality of life beyond middle age.
Combining the best of functional fitness, yoga and Qi Gong, the main focus for this class is developing strength and balance.

Required Props:

- Chair to sit on, preferably with a cushion and no arm rests (an extra chair behind you if you are concerned about falls)
- Hand weights: 2 Sets (2 Light and 2 Heavy)

Most people will start off with 3lbs for Light and 5lbs for Heavy.
If you are feeling strong you can do 5lbs and 8lbs.
(This is a total of 4 weights, 2 of each weight.)

What is Light? You can raise both weights easily over your head 10 times with good form.
What is Heavy? You can curl them easily (Straight arm to bent arm, weight moves from hip to shoulder height) 10 times with good form.
