This beginner-level class takes place IN-PERSON at Rhinebeck Yoga Center (above the department store), 6400 Montgomery St, 3rd floor, Rhinebeck, NY 12572. Parking is available on the street or in municipal lots on Market St.

You may pre-register online through Rhinebeck Yoga Center or pay at the studio.

This class is for those who are new to Iyengar Yoga. Sequences are designed to build strength, balance and range of motion. We will practice standing poses that include lateral, forward and twisting positions that bring strength and length to the spine. We will practice seated postures and supported inverted poses that facilitate healthy breathing and build immune support. Modifications are made for injuries or certain medical conditions.

This level class is designed to teach basic actions for standing poses, forward and back bending poses. Headstand and shoulderstand are also taught in this class. A weekly class of the subtle and profound art of breath awareness and breath practices. A 5 - 10 minute of daily practice of pranayama is expected for the benefits of this work.

3 years of Iyengar Yoga experience required.
