Description

*Evie will be covering Mary’s usual class, with a ‘seasonal movement’ and rest session. This class will incorporate somatics and meditation.

What is somatics? Somatics is a practice similar to yoga in the way that it prioritises the felt sense in the body, over aesthetic. It incorporates movement, meditation and breathwork to help you work with your nervous system and reconnect with your body in a deeper sense than physical appearance.

Our Sunday morning class gently honours the turning of the wheel of the year through simple, seasonally conscious movement, breath, and meditation.

At Grow, we invite you to reconnect with the natural rhythms of the earth and your own body — especially in a culture that encourages us to move at the pace of systems rather than at a pace that is sustainable or nourishing.

This is a slow, therapeutic movement practice, designed to support regulation, rest, and embodied awareness. The class weaves together mindful movement with Yin Yoga, drawing on principles from traditional Chinese medicine. Postures are held for longer periods to allow time for tissues to soften, fascia to be gently stimulated, and the nervous system to settle.

The emphasis is not on effort or achievement, but on listening, sensing, and responding — allowing the body to move in a way that feels appropriate for the season and for you.

This is a deeply grounding and refreshing way to arrive into Sunday, held in a small group so care and attention can be offered throughout. The practice is accessible to beginners, and also offers depth for those familiar with slower, more contemplative yoga.
