Description

A monthly closed-group class for anyone wishing to support their health by deepening their connection with their body. The group is led by Katie Sayles, Somatic Coach, Registered Mental Health Nurse and Yoga Teacher.

What is a closed group?

A closed group includes the same members each month, allowing familiarity, trust and friendliness to develop. This consistency is especially valuable in therapeutic settings, where a sense of safety supports deeper exploration and learning.

This group meets on the third Monday of each month and each session is 90 minutes. We ask participants to commit to a minimum of three sessions to help establish stability and connection within the group.

What is somatics?

Somatics is a body-based approach to healing that recognises that our emotions, experiences and histories are held not only in the mind, but also in the body. Instead of focusing solely on thoughts or verbal processing, somatic work invites gentle exploration of sensations, patterns, and tension as a pathway to deeper understanding.

Using practices such as breath, mindful movement, grounding and body awareness, somatic therapy supports reconnection with inner resources, release of held tension, and a return to a more regulated, authentic and embodied way of being. It is an approach that honours the whole person—mind, body and spirit.
