What is a closed group?

In a closed group, you practice with the same people weekly or monthly. There are no drop in slots, meaning the group should remain fairly consistent over a period of time.

Closed groups are brilliant if you’re wanting to build a sense of familiarity with the group members, or if you’re wanting to create a commitment for yourself.

What is the embodiment monthly group?

This group is a creation born from my training in Yoni Shakti / Womb POWER Yoga Therapy and my initial inspiration and visions from the opening group in the online realm. This group is very much about sisterhood, community, intuition and embodiment.

For all those who want to connect with the cyclical nature of their womb & body. This group is suitable for adults in their menstruating years (even if, for whatever reason, you don’t have a bleed) and for those going through the peri/menopause.

This group will support you to explore the wisdom in the cyclical nature of your body, to lean into and harness the powers of each phase (through the monthly cycle and life cycle), and to do this within a closed group community. I hope that this can lead to a greater feeling of authenticity, connection and confidence for those involved.

I encourage a diverse range of women to join the group, as this will add a richness to the experience for all women. Whilst it’s not essential, you will be encouraged to share during the women’s circles and your unique experience weaves the fabric of our learning! I am purely a facilitator, we are all learning from each other.

All sessions will be unique, but will have familiar elements. Example layout of a session.

1. Introduction of theme & a little bit of education on the body from an embodied perspective e.g. living in rhythm with your menstrual cycle.
2. Yoga Nidra (restful meditation)
3. Sharing circle (a crucial part of women's circles is hearing and honouring the voices in the group, and having the space to share should you wish to)
4. Movement / breathwork / meditation to support the specific theme, and to support your home practice.

Fee £24 per session, for 6 months.

Commitment: This group runs for 6 months so that you can complete a full cycle of lessons & to give us the best chance of creating a community feel.

This six week course is designed to help you explore your bodies wisdom, in particular, when recovering from trauma.

Yoga is increasingly recognised for its ability to support mental health. In this six week course for women, you will be guided by Katie Sayles, to learn practical techniques and mind-body explorations to support your trauma recovery journey.

This is a six week exploration of Therapeutic Yoga, Somatics and Polyvagal Theory to support you in your journey of self-discovery, embodied healing and meaningful change.

Each session is 90 minutes long and will consist of psychoeducation, movement, breathing practices, somatic practices and rest.

When embarking on this course, you are likely to meet like-minded souls who may have had similar experiences to you. It may therefore be a beautiful way to open yourself up to being witnessed by others, and supported in a held space where any and all of your expression is welcome.

The session topics will explore:

Week 1: Choice - Often when we experience trauma, our choice may have been taken away from us. This session will help you to find a sense of safety in your body and increase your capacity to be with emotions and sensations without becoming overwhelmed.

Week 2: The Witness - This session supports you to non-judgmentally observe your thoughts, emotions and sensations using a range of practices and gentle stretches.

Week 3: Cultivate Equanimity - In this session, we will explore Polyvagal theory and practices that aim to facilitate greater balance in the nervous system.

Week 4: Embodiment as Empowerment - This session is designed to support you to safely upregulate and mobilise the body and mind, enhancing the felt sense of vitality.

Week 5: Brain and Body Integration - This class explores the impact that trauma has on our body and mind, with practices to support brain integration.

Week 6: Opening to Love - In the final class of this course, practices aim to facilitate a gentle and safe opening of the heart, an inward turn towards yourself and softening of muscular tension.

What is the fee?

£180 for the six week exploration.

What is therapeutic Yoga?

In a therapeutic Yoga class, the practices are designed specifically to have therapeutic effects for example; stress relief, management of anxiety symptoms or soothing overwhelm. These classes aim to provide a helpful tools and a community, to support your physiological, mental and spiritual health.

Please note that this course is not specific to trauma or mental health needs, if you require more specific support, we recommend Yoga Therapy or the Trauma specific six week course.

What happens in this group?

Katie will facilitate a space where you can begin to experience and respond to life from an embodied place, instead of striving to meet the demands of society if they do not fit you.

In this work, you are essentially restructuring your relationship with your body, your community and the demands of society, which is a slow process that requires some level of devotion.

This weekly group can hold you accountable and hold the space for you to develop in this way.

This group uses awareness, breath, movement, sound and touch to facilitate this deeper sense of connection and attunement with your body.

Logistics / T&Cs

Fee £64 per phase

4 weeks on, 1 week off, repeat.
Once you have a space in the group, it’s yours until you decide to leave.
We ask for two weeks notice if you’re to leave a group, allowing us time to fill your slot.
You will pay for the phase upfront, if you cannot attend a class we cannot offer a refund, this is because we can’t offer the spare place to a drop in client due to the nature of the closed group.

A blend of two favourites. Yin Yoga is a slow paced, meditative style of Yoga which is based on traditional Chinese medicine principles. Stretches are held for a while to release physical tension & stimulate the energy system.

Restorative Yoga is stilling and gentle, the class is particularly useful for busy people who are wanting to slow down and bring some ease into their day.

Practicing rest regularly is useful for immunity, digestion, menstruation, menopause & the reproductive system.

Rest also benefits social bonding, resilience and energy levels.
