I began my yoga journey in Senegal, taking time for myself and moving in the early mornings before the village would wake up. Witnessing the benefits this practice brought to my mind, body, and soul inspired me to go deeper, leading me to complete a 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training in France in 2020.
Alongside this, I explored the power of breath and resilience through an initiation into cold exposure and breathwork practices. Since 2023, I have continued to expand my understanding of asanas by studying anatomy and neuroscience, focusing on how neurology connects to the physical practice of yoga and how this knowledge can support students in their own journeys.
For me, yoga is a space to explore movement in unexpected ways, a playground where I can fall, experiment, and allow emotions to rise and pass. It is a practice that continually brings me back to my authentic self.
Description
Neuro Yoga is a Vinyasa-based approach infused with some functional neurology. We take the traditional asanas and move beyond just alignment. We move in and out of this alignment, consciously exploring other, sometimes unusual, movements. Our brain thrives on this variety. The more we explore movement, the safer our brain feels. As safety increases, our body moves and feels better. There are many drills we can use to improve balance, flexibility, and strength. I look forward to sharing this practise with you.
