Brian Johnson
Brian began practicing yoga in 2008 and thereafter leaned heavily into the physical benefits as a therapeutic to enhance mobility stemming from a car accident in 2013. After years of physical therapy and medical fitness, he evolved towards the benefits of yoga that compliment building lean muscle and mobility rather than bulk.
In 2022 Brian completed the Yoga Den 500-hour RYT training in Jacksonville, FL. The training provided the environment to catalyze a passion for movement, expand awareness of breath, and find stillness through meditation.
Yin & Nidra are his favorite styles to teach, but he can flow with the breath too when it’s time to warm things up.
Description
Move Energy
Sun Salutations heat the body and activate Prana, or upward energy. You’ve probably heard in yoga class that the active parts of class (like a Vinyasa flow) help create and move energy and stuck emotions. The slower parts of class (like hip openers and reclined poses) help release energy and emotions that no longer serve you.
Surrender
During 108 Sun Salutations, you will at some point think, “Why did I sign up for this?” If you keep going, you will find a state of ease, and even a sense of flow. You will surrender to the process, acknowledge what arises emotionally, and then let it go. When you finish, you will feel lighter and find meaning in this ancient ritual.
This class will be held outdoors on the patio. Bring a blanket for under your mat. Dress accordingly and wear your sunblock!!
