Description
Tabata is 20 seconds on 10 seconds off. Typically we rest during the 10 seconds... NOT TODAY!! The "rest" will be isometric holds!
Research Study: Muscles grow stronger from increasing the bulk of our muscle fibers, and neural drive (nerve endings that signal our muscles) play an important role in muscular growth and strength. Research has shown that isometric training can recruit more motor units than a dynamic workout, with the ability to recruit 95.2% of a muscle group. Meanwhile, traditional workouts only led to 88.3% recruitment (Source:Journal of Applied Physiology 2001 91:6, 2628-2634)
