Kids Yoga at First Plymouth Church

December 18, 2022 • 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Lisa Theis
Lisa’s journey with the practice of yoga began in 2000 in a Bikram studio in San Francisco. What began as a physical and mental challenge to just stay in the room for the duration of class quickly became a deep and healing connection for her body, mind, and spirit, and eventually became a life’s passion and calling. Though she has had many influential teachers, she is a dedicated student and follows the lineage of Para Yoga and Sri Vidya. Her classes strive to provide a space for each person to explore the effect of yoga in their own way and, while rooted in the methodologies of Para Yoga, are an amalgamation of all her teachers’ influences. Each class will include pranayama (breathwork), the exploration and experience of the energetics of asana (postures), mantra, visualization and intentional focus, and meditation.

Description

Taught by Amy Pickett-Williams.
Welcome! We are excited to offer yoga for kids! Yoga has been proven to help with physical, mental and emotional health. We will play in our yoga, practice mindfulness, and have a lot of fun!

Children's yoga offered from 3-4pm at the same time that teen/adult yoga is offered. Approximate ages of 4-12. As parents will likely be in teen/adult yoga, children need to be able to participate with the yoga teacher or another adult will need to.

This is a Pay What you Can class and no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Suggested rate of $20 goes to pay for the space & instructors & a portion of the proceeds will go to the Share-the-Plate non-profit of the month. You may donate in person when you show up for class, or you can donate online after the class is over - an email will be sent with details once class is complete.
