Leanne De Courcy
Hi, I’m Leanne. I’ve been practising yoga myself for over 25 years and inspired by the many benefits yoga has brought to my own life and to others, I completed my yoga teacher training in 2014.
I specialise in Dru Yoga — a gentle, flowing practice rooted in Hatha yoga. It combines yoga postures and sequences with breathwork, meditation, relaxation, affirmations and visualisation, creating a holistic approach that supports both physical and emotional wellbeing.
I’m qualified to teach adults, as well as children and teenagers, and have a particular interest in therapeutic yoga. I’ve completed additional training in Yoga for Cancer with The Minded Institute, and Yoga for Menopause (Menoyoga) with Sally Parkes.
Alongside teaching yoga, I am
a clinical nurse specialist and independent prescriber trained at Masters level. I have a professional background in acute care, bowel and breast cancer and gastroenterology. I also completed my Reiki Level 2 training in 2023.
I have a strong interest in psychology and emotional wellbeing, as well as a love of nature and travel. I enjoy weaving these interests and experiences into my yoga classes, creating a supportive, holistic and mindful space where people can connect with themselves and nurture their wellbeing.
Description
This gentle Dru yoga class is perfect for anyone looking for a nurturing, accessible practice.
Dru Yoga is a gentle, flowing style rooted in Hatha Yoga. We’ll begin with simple activations to loosen the body and encourage the flow of energy, followed by body preparations to gently stretch and release targeted muscles.
I’ll then guide you through traditional yoga postures, flowing sequences and breathing techniques. Affirmations and visualisations will be woven throughout the practice to promote a sense of calm, relaxation and wellbeing.
This slightly longer class will be themed and will include a short meditation. We’ll finish with a relaxation, leaving you feeling refreshed, grounded and nurtured.
