Description
Sundays will give you a peek into the variety of instructors and classes that we offer at the studio. Each week we will offer different classes to encourage you to try something new. Enjoy!
This Sunday's Class: Introduction to Ashtanga with Sara
Join in a soft introduction to Ashtanga yoga: Through breathing exercises, mantra, sun salutations, standing postures, relaxing postures and deep relaxation, you get the chance to try the Ashtanga yoga method. A flowing class where we work through the whole body and keep the focus on the breath.
Sara Alenius is Leg. Physiotherapist, MSc, and authorized Ashtanga yoga teacher at SYC (KPJAYI). Sara encountered yoga as a teenager after many years of martial arts training. After graduating, she moved to India to further her yoga studies. She lived in Mysore, the capital of Ashtanga yoga, ran a yoga café and practiced for R. Sharath Jois. Since her time in India, she has continued to study yoga, meditation and philosophy and trained as a physiotherapist. She experiences that yoga and anatomy enrich each other in both directions and she weaves them together in her yoga classes and through her courses in anatomy from a yoga perspective.
